A Rant About Archive 81

I have some gripes about the new show on Netflix called Archive 81

The acting in the beginning felt a bit… read from the script and not acted out type? You can tell with how some of the lines were delivered. Or maybe some of the dialogue sucked. It took me out of the show for a few moments.

The show ran really good and then the last 2 episodes kind of… slowed everything down and some plot points started to not make sense.

Like the witches turning out to be the ones who HAVE to be alive and summon the portals. I feel like they could’ve figured this out by the 3rd time, right?

Or how in the end… Dan is now in the 90s? Wouldn’t he still be in the otherworld since he didn’t go through a portal or did they not show it? And what about Melody and the other guy Samuel! Melody made it through but Samuel didn’t. What happened there?

Oh and I rolled my eyes at the end because I know for a fact that for season 2 that Dan is going to try and stop the fire at his family’s house now.

The demon wasn’t scary. He could’ve just not been in the show the whole time and still strike fear into the viewer. We didn’t need a bad costume design for a monster. Just sayin'.

All this time travel mumbo jumbo. Couldn’t the cult in the present connect with the cult in the past to figure things out since Dan did it with Melody?

Melody and Dan made a lot of really dumb decisions. I get it that it progresses the show but the amount of cringe from some of the decisions made were pretty bad. Not as bad as other horror shows and film. But enough to cringe a bit.
